What the heck is that?

During spring 2021 a jamwas organized around TROIKA! in a French community called La Fabrique Imaginaire. The purpose of this jam was to produce a collection of collectively created backgrounds using a scientifically certified process:

• Step 1: we asked for prompts, keywords and extremely succinct character descriptions. The weirdest, the better!

• Step 2: anybody could take one (or more) of the proposed prompts and make an illustration from it (drawing, handcraft, painting, whatever!). Again, the only advice was “go wild”.

• Step 3: anybody could take one (or more) of the illustrations and build a TROIKA! background out of it. No restriction, no specification. And if you are asking yourself “wait a minute, how is this scientifically certified?!”, I would answer that we used bullet points, therefore, science!

The present document is the English translation of the obtained backgrounds (we kept some of the names in French because… well, isn’t it particularly sexy?).

In extra, you will find the illustrations, which were not adapted into backgrounds, and in the same way, a list of unused prompts so you can build your own inhabitant of the Fabrique Imaginaire!
